A 407 visa is a temporary visa granted to individuals who are participating in a work training program. The training course is designed to enhance your skills in your current occupation or field of study in higher education, or a professional training program.
Eligibility Criteria for the Australia Training Visa
To be eligible for this type of training visa in Australia, certain requirements must be met:
- Sponsored.
- Recommended by an authorized sponsor.
- If your sponsor is a Commonwealth Government institution, you are invited to attend.
- Please make sure to include your nomination and sponsorship when submitting your visa application.
Requirements for Australia Training Visa 407.
To acquire a training visa 407 for Australia, you must provide the following documents:
Passport and ID. You must produce an up-to-date passport and identification documents. These include birth certificates, national ID cards, driver’s licences, marriage certificates, divorce certificates, adoption paperwork, and so on. You may be requested to provide a photograph and fingerprints.
Invitation letter. If you are being supported by an Australian Commonwealth Government institution, you must submit a copy of your invitation letter.
Sponsorship Proof. Individuals applying for an Australia training visa must provide:
- A letter of acceptance from your sponsor or a receipt confirming the filing of the sponsorship application.
- A letter of approval from your sponsor’s nomination or a receipt confirming the filing of the nomination application.
- A formal statement from your sponsor confirming that they will honor all of their responsibilities to you and all of the family members listed in your application.
Volunteer forms. If the training is a voluntary position, your sponsor must include forms 1283 and 1284 with the nomination form.
Qualification Documents. You must send a copy of your résumé and qualifications, as well as copies of any applicable registrations or licences. This includes a letter on business letterhead from your current employer outlining your role and duties.
Financial Fund Documents. You must give proof that you can financially support yourself and your family (if any):
Bank statements:
- A letter from your bank outlining your financial circumstances.
- Employment contracts.
- Evidence of your sponsor’s allowance, stipend, or accommodation.
- A letter of support from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (if you were a funded student or received AusAid).
Health insurance. You and any other family members accompanying you must have Australian health insurance. You should buy insurance from a reputable source.
Evidence of English language proficiency. If English is not your first language, you must demonstrate that you have adequate language skills. You can submit primary or secondary school certificates from an English-speaking institution. You can also offer a certificate from one of Australia’s recognised language competency tests:
- IELTS.
- TOEFL.
- Pearson Test of English Academic.
- Cambridge English Advanced (CAE).
Evidence of Good Character. It’s critical to demonstrate that you fit the character standards for Australia.
Occupational Training Requirements. You must produce a letter from the competent institution for your occupation in your nation naming you as the recipient of the training. The letter must also state that the training is required for you to obtain a license, registration, or membership to continue working in your occupation.
A letter showing that you have conditional registration for the training with the authorized authorities or regulatory organization. This is essential if you are a healthcare professional who will be treating patients throughout training.
Australian Values Statement. You must sign a declaration confirming that you will follow all Australian rules and regulations and respect Australian values.
Assistance Documents. If you require assistance with your visa application, please include the following:
- Form 956a – Authorized Recipient.
- Migration Agent Assistance Form 956.
- A written explanation was uploaded to your Immi Account.
Additional Documents for Family Members
If you are bringing your dependents with you, you must submit the following in your visa application.
- Your partner’s ID.
- Evidence of a registered relationship in an Australian State or Territory.
- Documents demonstrating that you have been in a de facto relationship for at least a year prior to your application.
- If you are travelling with a minor, complete Form 1229 to obtain parental consent.
- If the form is not completed, a statutory declaration for travel consent will be issued.
- An Australian court order permitting the youngster to travel to Australia.
- Proof that your country’s laws allow minors to travel.
For children over the age of 18.
- Identification documents.
- Character prerequisites.
- Proof of relationship (where relevant).
- If the youngster is over the age of 18 and depends on you, complete Form 47a.
- Proof of your relationship with the dependent child.
- Evidence of financial reliance.
- A medical form stating that the youngster is unable to maintain himself and relies on you or your partner.
- You can bring a child over the age of 23 if they are unable to provide for themselves due to cognitive impairment or other conditions and rely on you or your partner.
